The purpose of the HRI is to provide all Human Resource professionals within the Commonwealth of Virginia, and other government entities with a vehicle through which they might enhance their professional knowledge, skills and abilities. This institute also serves as a means of both career development and career advancement.
The mission of HRI is to provide the Commonwealth of Virginia with a statewide staff of human resource professionals who are willing, able and prepared to meet the personnel needs of the Commonwealth in serving the citizens of Virginia.
The objective of HRI is to extend the opportunity for career growth to all individuals who seek to advance professionally and personally with the body of HR knowledge available to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
HRI shall function as the conduit by which human resource professionals may enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities, broaden the scope of their experience, advance their careers and provide quality customer service to the employees and citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. HRI will make as many professional HR certification programs available to Commonwealth employees as is feasible within the realm of this "virtual" institute. This will be accomplished through a number of different media, and delivery will be provided by a wide variety of sources. These will include but not be limited to:
